Modi Government takes immediate action against indefinite strike i.e. hike minimum wages to Rs. 26000.00

After Cabinet Committee approval of 7th Pay Commission recommendation on 29th June 2016, the various federations and unions of Central Government Employee called indefinite strike regarding minimum wages i.e. 18000.  The all Central Government Employee unions and federations demanded the minimum wages Rs. 26000. On 29.06.2016, Modi government had approved 7th pay commission recommendation, after that various Central Government employee unions/federations leaders met to Finance Minister, Home Minister, Railway Minister respectively and in that meeting the union leaders were assured that their demands of increasing the minimum wages are jenine and will be consider soon i.e. from Rs. 18000 to Rs. 26000.

With the reliable source within the ministry, Modi Government can't afford indefinite strike which has been called by the union leaders from 11th June of Central Government Employee and that's why government may decides to hike minimum wages i.e. from Rs. 18000 to Rs. 26000.

The decision of Modi Government of 7th Pay Commission recommendation about minimum wages set at Rs. 18000 disappointed to more than 33 lakh Central Government Employee.  The Many unions demanding the minimum salary be set at Rs. 26000 per month before 7th Pay Commission report.  From last 3 years more than 1.5 crore Employee including pensions awaiting for the implementations of 7th Pay Commission, but after approval of cabinet committee all they are unhappy with action taken by the Government officials.

The General Secretary of National Joint Council of Action Shri Shiva Gopal Mishare,  “They have fixed the minimum wage at a meagre Rs 18,000 in the 7CPC. Earlier the basic pay was Rs 7,000 which was multiplied by 2.57 (fitment formula) after which it came to Rs 18,000. Our demand is 3.8 fitment formula”.
