Submit I-T returns at special counters

BANGALORE: It's time to file your income tax returns. The last date for salaried employees, pensioners and non-corporate assessees, whose accounts are not required to be audited, is July 31.

The department with the slogan - File and Smile - will open special counters at Gayathri Vihar, Palace Grounds, from July 20 to 31.

The counters are "one stop for filing tax returns" clubbed with a host of taxpayer services. To receive income returns, more than 100 counters, including ones to facilitate bulk filing of returns by organizations, will be set up.

The department on Wednesday said refund returns are being handled by separate counters at the venue. The venue will have ATMs, swipe machines, bank counters, help desks and tax volunteers. Tax return preparers (TRPs) are available at a pre-determined nominal cost for assistance. Separate PAN service (NSDL) counters, parking facilities and other amenities like rest rooms, photo copying and food courts will also be available. The department has made arrangements for police security and first-aid facilities.

NOTE THIS:
  • Special counters will be open between 9.30am and 5pm from July 20 to July 31, including holidays.
  • Income-tax returns of pensioners and salaried assessees will be received 'only' at special counters, Gayathri Vihar, Palace Grounds
